WayWORD's Youth Committee at Hazlehead Academy

Monday 19th - Wednesday 21st September
Hazlehead Academy

Two S3 classes from Hazlehead Academy have been working with the WayWORD Team to produce events hosted by the school. The pupils devised these events themselves and they will be delivered in the school to other pupils from across Aberdeen City.

Art For Life

Art For Life

A number of local practitioners will showcase their varied artistic mediums in this one-off event, hosted by WayWORD’s Youth Committee at Hazlehead Academy. Celebrating different creatures, this event for young people will develop passion and creativity in exciting and interactive workshops.

Our visiting practitioners, specialising in makeup, graffiti, sculpture and traditional art, will demonstrate their chosen medium for the audience and include interactive tasks to develop the skills and abilities of the young people attending the event.

With the opportunity to attend multiple workshops across the course of the afternoon, this event is a fantastic opportunity for local young people to experience different forms of artistic expression and try out something new, enabling them to develop their interests and their methods of self-expression.

Love For All

Love For All

WayWORD’s Youth Committee at Hazlehead Academy are hosting workshops for local primary school children, with the theme of inclusion at their heart. Celebrating the joys of stories, friendship and creativity, these events for little ones will explore and promote acceptance and love in all its forms. Children will have the chance to listen to and talk about a variety of different picture books, to chat to others, make new friends and participate in a number of interactive activities, including games and crafts. The event will give children the opportunity to learn about different races, sexualities, genders and family structures, all showcasing the message that life is all about sharing, caring, inclusion and love.
